Trailer, Chassis & Container Mechanic
McCalla and Bessemer Area openings
8:00pm- 6:00am shift
Bessemer and McCalla Area employer is seeking an experienced Trailer, Chassis & Container Mechanic who will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on trailers, chassis and containers in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
Repairing damage to chassis, trailers and containers
Welding - repairing small holes in containers
Basic electrical work - replacing lights & wiring
Landing gear repair
Minor frame repairs
Conduct certified FHWA inspections
Ensure that all parts and labor are accurately on repair order
Maintain a clean and safe work environment that complies with OSHA Standards
Provide services such as equipment operations as needed for other business units
Other duties as assigned
The Trailer & Container Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on our chassis and
containers a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.

Air Brake Qualified – preferred
Welding Experience - preferred
- 2 plus years of experience in related equipment maintenance and repair
- Safety Awareness - Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.
- Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.
- Motivation - Ability to inspire oneself and others to reach a goal and/or perform to the best of their ability.
High School Diploma
2 plus years of experience in related equipment maintenance and repair
Valid Driver’s License
Pre-employment physical and drug screen – required
Able to work in varying weather conditions
**Qualified Applicants must be 19 years of age or older, have HSD or GED, and must pass background screening and drug testing.**
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Hard Hat, PPE Vest, Safety Glasses and Steel Toed Boots
