Job Description:
  • Non-Medical - Industrial Lab Setting
    • This position is for processing mineral samples and sample information.
    • Job functions will include:
      • Logging in and labeling mineral samples
      • Performing basic lab tests
      • Preparing and pulverizing samples for analysis.
      • Communicating data and results to office and plant personnel by distributing sample information via email
  • Key Responsibilities
    1. Run sample preparation and analysis lab
      • Coordinate sample preparation and analytical data distribution to staff
      • Communicate and facilitate completion of sample information reports from/with plants
    2. Mineral sample handling, preparation and testing
    3. Sample log-in and data entry in MS-Excel Analysis forms
    4. Record keeping and attention to detail
    5. Ship samples to labs and customers using UPS’s and Fed-Ex’s online platforms services
    6. Maintain and verify calibration of lab equipment
    7. Perform additional tasks at the direction of management

    • Education:

    • Work Environment/Physical Requirements
      • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs frequently
      • Activities which generate mineral dusts require the use of PPE (personal protective equipment) including:
        • Dust mask/respirator
          • Applicants must pass medical respirator - use clearance.
        • Use of additional safety/PPE (personal protective equipment) is required, such as:
          • Hard-hat
          • Hearing protection
          • Steel-toed boots are required while performing certain sample-processing task
