Job Description:


To master and cross-train on all of the activities that support receiving and dispatch of truck and rail freight, and container and trailer transport.

The skills to be developed include but are not limited to:

  • Chassis inspection and reporting
  • Equipment location assignments
  • Container transfer between modes of transport
  • Preparation of outgate dispatch of equipment
  • Successful turnover of the dispatch to the assigned final delivery carrier
  • Mechanic duties on-site when needed by company and/or sister companies

$16.00 per hour + DOE

Essential Functions

  • Maintain inventory of all boxes and chassis in CY yard
  • Stack containers in designated areas by utilizing a side loader
  • Locate and segregate paper grade containers
  • Outgate and ingate containers and set ups
  • Segregate Tiger equipment containers
  • Utilize capacity trucks to pull chassis out and in the bad order zone
  • Perform lift off and lift ons
  • Operate Mi-Jack, Capacity and Taylor equipment
  • Perform pre and post trips on all operated equipment
  • Learn all aspects of equipment and maintenance required
  • Clean out the equipment at end of each work day
  • Prepare empty setup inspections in accordance to customer needs
  • Check in with the office and front gate inspectors in the morning and afternoon for any empty container needs for the next two shifts
  • Wash off gas tanks for equipment used at the end of the shift
  • Ability to learn the Depot System Software
  • Pick up debris in yard to prevent slips, trips, and falls
  • Perform contract duties for sister companies
  • Perform container & chassis repairs
  • Perform preventive maintenance repairs such as oil changes and grease jobs on all equipment
  • Maintain inventory of parts
  • Perform vehicle and yard repairs and maintenance
  • Perform welding repairs as needed
  • Create tire and chassis work orders
  • Pull chassis out of red zone after repairs are completed
